I was a bit surprised that huskies weren't on the list for the UK. They seem to be a popular breed there, but didn't make it on any list that I could find.

Not surprised that Huskies are in the top 10 for Canada but not for the U.S, that explains why we can't even walk down any street w/out 5 people stopping us to say hi to Isis! Very interesting to see the other countries, thanks for sharing that!

Hurrah for RESCUE dogs being #1~~that is a great dign we are getting the news out to adopt before going to a breeder. My fave big dogs are German Shepherd & Husky (hence why I had Bogart Sam as he was both). I do like Great Danes as my Uncle bread & raised them however I could not manage one myself.
My fave smaller dog is a Scottish Terrier as I was friends with a senios Scotty years ago & he was the mist darling dog I'd ever known/
Midsize dog Shiba Inu....I wish! They are lovely.....

And a lot of people pick those breeds just for the fact that they are wonderful dogs and the right fit for their life, which of course is wonderful! It's those bad apples of the world who go out and get a breed just because of the popularity that ends up hurting these breeds in the long run.
