Glad you bring to light that although they're wonderful dogs, Huskies are not right for every dog owner. They are very high maintenance and not easy to train - you must put in the TIME & EFFORT to train them! I didn't know Twilight created a Husky demand, those were clearly wolves; really BIG wolves! I never thought about that. So sad to hear about all the surrenders - I hope to adopt another Husky in the next couple of years when our lives are less crazy. I wore the beautiful necklace I bought from you to the Holiday Pet Festival today! LUV IT!

I didn't know this! I was still working as a vet tech when the Twilight book series came out, and I still think there was an increase of the breed even before that. But yes, I would say that we saw even more Husky puppies about 4 years ago. I can definitely see how this could cause an increase in demand of the breed though, even though I had no idea. I don't watch the Game of Thrones show and am not really familiar with it.
