Raw fed dogs seem like all the rage these days. Ever wonder why? I have, and I was anxious to learn more about raw feeding, and just exactly what the benefits of raw food for dogs are. Today, I invite you to come with me and the huskies on a journey into the raw diet world with Nature's Variety Instinct® Raw Bites.
I have been interested in trying raw dog food for a while now, and have been doing loads of research. I have even dabbled here and there with different raw treats for the huskies, such as chicken hearts, and raw meaty bones. One thing holding me back from making the switch was that it just seemed like a whole lot of work to prepare raw meals. That is why I am excited to introduce you to Nature's Variety Instinct® Raw Bites.
Instinct Raw Bites make raw feeding your dog super easy! Dogs are meat eaters by nature, so Nature's Variety has created a perfectly balanced raw diet for our 4 legged friends. Their food is never cooked, all natural, and packed with animal protein. The best part? All you do is scoop and serve! I don't think they could have made it any easier if they tried!!
Since my dogs were fed dry food, I had to do a slow transition over to Instinct Raw. When changing foods, whether it is from one dry food to another, or dry food to raw food, a slow introduction to the new food is extremely important, as the quick change can be hard on your dog's system.
Transition your dog by slowly introducing the new food, while decreasing the old food. Do this over a period of about 7 - 14 days.
I was anxious to see how my dogs would take to the raw food. Huskies can be super picky about what they eat, so when Koda rushed over to his bowl and began eating it with no hesitation, I was thrilled! It was clear that he loved it, and with his sensitive tummy, I am excited to see the difference it will make for him and his digestive system. As we move forward with his raw diet, I will continue to give updates.
What are some of the benefits I learned about raw food?
- Healthy skin and coat
- Optimal digestion
- Healthy teeth and gums
- Great for dogs with food sensitivities
- Helps your dog keep an ideal body weight
If your not completely ready to make the switch to a raw diet, Instinct Raw Bites can also be mixed in with your dogs regular dry food! #ad

Yum! Those look great! I bet the girls would like it!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they would! I know my picky huskies weren't so picky when they ate them!
DeleteThe thought has been tossed around at my house, but for now we are sticking with grain free, raw infused kibble. Not sure if Mom is ready for raw. Instinct looks real yummy. I'm a picky eater too, my sisters are not.
ReplyDeleteUnderstandable :)
DeleteInstinct Raw makes it so easy to test the waters of raw feeding, so I have been super impressed with the transition!
We are trying the Instinct Raw food too. We mix it in with our wet food.
ReplyDeleteOh nice!!! How are you kitties liking it so far?
DeleteOur dogs would probably love it!

ReplyDeleteIt really does!!! The huskies and I have been enjoying our new journey into raw feeding!

DeleteI think I agree with Earl Lover; Poppy would love raw, - she's a big fan of meaty stuff especially - but wouldn't she love all food, BOL!?
ReplyDeleteMom says she is pretty sure we would love it too. She had actually considered switching us to Primal Raw but the cost for two bigger dogs is pretty steep. Guess we will stay with our good kibble for now. Thanks for the review and we hope it is good for all.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Ciara and Lightning
I know what you mean about cost, which another thing I was thrilled to see with Natures Variety Instinct Raw Bites. They are quite large bags, and reasonably priced!!!!
DeleteOh, would love to try this! I've been so low on funds recently, but I'm planning on trying this brand with Bain next year.
ReplyDeleteWonderful!!! I know he will just love them!!!
DeleteI fed prey model raw all of last summer, and wasn't impressed. Horrible coats, runny eyes, shedding, weight loss on dogs that couldn't afford to lose, low energy, ear infections (and this was past the "detox" phase). I happily quit, and put them back on kibble primarily. I now feed kibble, canned, dehydrated and freeze dried raw, and occasional raw meaty bones.
ReplyDeleteWow! That's interesting to hear, I wonder what would cause that? I don't think I have heard of such negative results from raw feeding!
DeleteI don't feed raw, although I have thought about it. I'm surprised to learn that a raw diet is good for dogs w/ sensitive stomachs. My Husky has a super sensitive tummy, and changing food is always a delicate matter. This product looks easy to use and convenient. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLove & Biscuits,
Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them

DeleteAfter my cat got quite sick from her bought food, I did my research and the switched my cat, and my dog, Cody to a homemade raw food diet. The benefits are endless! And you can really tailor it to suit your dog and lifestyle! Great post :)

DeleteMom is thinking about trying the raw for us kitties! Good post!!!
ReplyDeleteOh nice! I am anxious to hear if you kitties like it!!
DeleteYou know that I've been wanting to switch to raw for some time now, but Miss Koda doesn't seem to like anything but her bones raw. I think this is something she would eat for sure. I'm going to get some the next time I go to the store.
ReplyDeleteAwesome Michele!!! Let me know what she thinks!! Mika was never overly fond of anything raw either, but with these Instinct Raw Bites, she didn't even hesitate!
DeleteI've always been interested in a raw diet, but like you, thought it would be too much work. This is good to know and we'll keep it in mind!
ReplyDeleteJan, Wag 'n Woof Pets
Definitely! And you have a busy house just like me as well. With 3 huskies, 3 cats and 3 kids, I just couldn't imagine having time to prepare raw meals all the time, so this easy, quick, scoop and serve balanced meal for dogs is just perfect!
DeleteNice review! Have a great night.
ReplyDeleteThanks, you too!
DeleteWe feed raw and love this product!! It's so easy to feed and such a great quality product. We've seen huge difference with our dogs and find raw is the best diet for them.
