Hi everyone, we're so happy you have came by to spend part of your Monday with us!
I'm sure you have all heard of water therapy for dogs, some of you may have even used it for your own pet.
This one particular story caught me eye, and I knew I had to share it with you for our "OMD" Monday post.
I would like you all to meet Kane the Husky, and his very loving daddy.
Kane is a senior husky.
Unfortunately his back legs stopped working, however surgery was just not an option due to his age.
His human was not ready to give up on him just yet though.
Thankfully, they discovered the answer to help Kane with his legs, and his pain.
Water Therapy.
As you will see in this video, after just a few days of water therapy, Kane was able to walk again!
Mostly with help, but he even started to tour around on his own as well!
It is truly amazing what water therapy can do!
I do hope you find the time to watch this short video, it is beautiful and oh so heart warming.
Perfect for your Monday smile!
Have you had experience with water therapy?
If you would like to learn more, stay tuned to the blog and I will be featuring a good friend of mine with her gorgeous husky, who has been using water therapy faithfully for some time, with great success.
Have you entered our Squishy Face Contest yet???

Did ya'll hear?
Oh please, never fear!
It's the doc, yep the doc!
His birthday is here!
Today is the birthday of the great Dr. Seuss!
You may remember me telling you last year how big a fan I am of Dr. Seuss.
To me, the man was sheer genius!
My all time favorite quote of his is in my above photo.
"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
nothing is going to get better, it's NOT!"
Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!
Amazing what water therapy can do. Have a marvellous Monday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
It truly is!
DeleteIt would probably be a good thing for Katie, but she really dislikes getting wet, doesn't even like rain much, so we have never had her try it. For Bailie and I if we needed it, it would work well I think.
ReplyDeleteI suppose for dogs who don't like water it may not be the best option, but it just seems to work such miracles!
DeleteMy Mom has a very good friend whose elderly dog had a stroke and underwent water therapy as part of his recovery. It was quite successful and he had good mobility until he passed away a few years ago. We'll try to squish up my face for your giveaway....it probably would be a photoshopped squished face though !!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sammy
Photo shopped squishy face is just fine!!!! Anything counts!!! It's all about having fun!
DeleteWater therapy works miracles doesn't it?
We've used water treadmill therapy with three of our dogs...Jack & Maggie aren't there yet, but we'll certainly do it with them if the need arises. It's great exercise for our seniors or dogs with injuries.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely is!!!
DeleteLove reading stories like this. Water is such a great alternative for a no pressure, gentle workout!
ReplyDeleteIt really is, and it just helps so many dogs who have no other options!!!
DeleteI heard only good things of water therapy for animals. I never tried it before, but it's definitely something I'd consider if the occasion presents itself. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteI would definitely as well!
DeleteThat is a wonderful story and we are so glad that water therapy is working for his dog.
ReplyDeleteHappy Dr Seuss Day!!!
Me too! And Happy Dr. Seuss Day!!
DeleteWater therapy is so helpful. I'm glad it helped this precious dog. I love your Dr. Seuss tribute! I've entered Bentley SquishyFace!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome!!! thanks for your entry!
DeleteWe hear wonderful things about water therapy - we hope Kane continues to benefit from it - what a great Dad!!!
ReplyDeleteWoos - Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning
He is a great dad for sure!!!
DeleteThat is so great! I wonder if water therapy would have helped Kobi's hind legs when they started to get weak (he wasn't in pain though). He didn't like the water though, so probably wouldn't have gone for it! I know swimming is great for Sheba's arthritis, I just wish we had a pool so she could go more often.
ReplyDeleteJan, Wag 'n Woof Pets
Yea, a pool would definitely be handy in this type of situation!
DeleteThe rehabilitation vet that Ernie saw for his back issues does water therapy on dogs...and cats, too! Happy Dr. Seuss Day!
ReplyDeleteCats too? Really? Now that is interesting!!!
Deletehappy Dr. Seuss Day!!!
Water therapy is great! My friend used it when her dog had to have surgery on his leg and he recovered completely and is now working towards an IPO title.
ReplyDeleteNice!!! It seems to be a miracle worker this water therapy stuff!
DeleteIt's amazing the difference water therapy can make. Wouldn't it be great if we all had pools in our backyards?
ReplyDeleteYes!!! BOL! It sure would!
DeleteThis is so cool! I love that this "simple" therapy was able to help the dog regain his ability to walk. It's just amazing.
ReplyDeleteIt is truly amazing, I agree
DeleteWater therapy does wonderful stuff. I used a water treadmill for Norman's therapy after his acl surgery, it got him back out in the field so much faster.
ReplyDeleteOh that's great!
DeleteIt's a fabulous treatment and even better if started earlier in a big dog's life.
ReplyDeleteVery good point!
DeleteA million years ago when I was a kid we had a Sheltie. Our dog hurt his back and his back legs were paralyzed. Back then there was not too much they could do and my parents had little money to fix a badly injured dog. The vet we saw was just out of vet school and suggested something kind of new--water therapy and it worked. Eventually our dog came home--walking and lived to be very old.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Thanks so much for sharing that story! Water therapy can just so miracles can't it?
DeleteWater therapy gets some amazing results!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly does!
