Tips for an affordable Valentines Day with your pet

Valentines Day is quickly approaching.
Numerous people will be headed to the pet store to buy heart shaped this and that, and spend tons of money on their pets. BUT, what if you simply cannot afford to do that?
I will share some ideas with you, for celebrating Valentines Day with your pet, on a budget.

Make some yummy Valentines themed homemade treats for your dog.
Try these easy Frozen Peanut Butter and Yogurt Doggie hearts -
You will need :

  • Heart shaped ice cube tray
  • Plain, Organic Greek Yogurt
  • Natural Peanut Butter
  • A freezer ;)

What you need to do -

  • Spoon a small amount of peanut butter into the heart shaped tray. (Peanut butter should not quite fill half of the heart)
  • Fill the rest of the heart with your yogurt.
  • Press the yogurt into the mold using the back of your spoon
  • Freeze for at least 4 hours
That's it! Easy peasy right?

Tip - Add a tiny bit of honey and/or mashed banana for extra flavor.

Valentines Day is all about love.
What better way to celebrate the day, than to celebrate love itself?
Heart shaped toys, and other Valentine Day themed toys are always cute, but love is where it's at!

Show your fur-babies some extra love on Valentines Day.
Maybe take them to their fav park, make them their fav food, or just take them on a special walk.
There are plenty of things to do without having to spend the money that retailers might lead you to believe you is a necessity.

How about you?
What do you do for Valentines Day to make it special?

  1. The hearts look really pretty!
You're right when you say that treating your pet doesn't have to cost any money. My favourite things are a long walk and special time with my bipeds.
