Canada Day (for those of you who don't know) is July 1st, and it is the day we celebrate our countries birthday. Last year was especially special because it was Koda's first time out in such a public setting FULL of people. It was a great test for him, to see how he would react after the socialization I had been working on with him.
The day started out at home with some fun in the pool with the human kids and the fur kids. Had some lunch, then it was off to the festivities!
The above photo shows Koda, sporting his Canadian Pride!! Looking good pal!
He was extremely well behaved, and I was very proud of my boy!
We always made sure and stopped for lots of water breaks as well as cool down breaks under the shady trees.

We even had our pictures taken for the local newspaper!!!
The day ended with a lovely family picnic, dogs included of course!
Then the dogs stayed home while we went to see the fireworks.
All in all, we had a wonderful day, and Koda did so well on his first time out in a busy public place.
A memory I will have forever.

It sure is nice to see something other than snow! We are looking forward to palm trees, sun and sand!! Looks like everybody had a wonderful Canada Day!

DeleteOh what great pics and memories! I surely needed to see such wonderful summer-time photos as we are under a severe wind chill warning here for a few days. Brrr. Looking at these pics makes me all warm and happy inside! Love the pic in the pool and with your flag! Soon we'll all thaw out and it will be that fun in the sun time of year again! (Although my Huskies love winter, this one has been brutal, han't it?!) Happy Flashback Friday!
