The Sensitive Siberian

Thank dog it's Saturday!
My favorite day of the week ;)

After celebrating my 1 year blogiversary yesterday, my good pal from Earl's World made me a beautiful blogiversary card with my girl Lexus on it.

This is my all time fav photo of Lexus!
Thanks so much for thinking of us Earl, Ethel and your mom <3

Time for our husky fun fact this week :

Siberian Huskies are sensitive.

As I have touched on before, this breed is highly intelligent, and I believe that is the cause of their sensitivity. My huskies remind me SO much of humans!

A Husky has extreme facial expressions, and always show how they feel on their face.
You will know when they are happy, you will know when they are sad, annoyed, or angry.

In the photo to the left, Mika is upset with me.
I had just finished grooming her, and she is not a fan of being groomed! You can plainly see on her face that she is less than impressed!

Also, when a Sibe get's upset with their human, they tend to keep a grudge. At least, for a few hours.
Whereas 'most' breeds will instantly forgive you, and come when called, tail wagging, huskies will completely ignore you! It is rather funny really.

Can you picture the face of a small child who just got told their trip to Disney land has been cancelled?
Well that is the look of a Sibe when they get upset, or when they get told their walk has been put off for a couple of hours due to rain, or whatever the case may be.

In conclusion, Siberian Huskies are sensitive, they are big sucks, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

We have another item to add to our Sibe Tribe's gift guide!
I'm sure you will all get a kick out of this, tell your little ones to turn their heads!

  4. I didn't know that about Huskies, isn't that funny that they can hold a grudge that long? They're like cats in that way, cats can really hold a grudge! Our cats used to get mad at us if we went away. That was back when we'd leave them to go camping and they didn't have a pet sitter that stayed with them (just someone to check on them)....now they always do so they don't get so mad at us. Have a great weekend!

  5. I'm so glad Laika doesn't hold grudges - I think we'd have a real problem considering there are so many things she dislikes. Every time she got a bath, had her nails trimmed, was groomed, had her teeth brushed, had to have burs picked off.. She'd be sulking for a long time. I hope you don't mind I linked to Pawz N' Claws on my post about holiday pet deals.

  6. First, HAPPY BLOGIVERSARY Jenna!! I Luv your blog! So funny, my 1st year Blogiversary was on 11/11, which I totally forgot about. Yours is on 11/18! Guess it was that Sibe Vibe again, rearing it's beautiful head this time last year - LOL! I totally relate to the Siberian Sensitivity thing. Everything rolls off Phoebe's back, but not Miss Isis! Oh no, she takes everything to heart. Laughing at Mika's pic, it's the same face Isis gives me when she's ticked off!

  10. Happy one year blogiversary!!!! I had a Red Husky Mix years ago. He was a great dog. I don't remember him being sensitive, but he was smart. Maybe he wasn't sensitive because he was a mix!

  12. Humans seem to forget that our dog's feelings can be hurt. Bentley is very emotional but doesn't hold grudges. He just gets his feelings hurt. I think that may be worse for me. BOL!

  14. We are sorry we missed your Blogoversary. (Happy belated Blogiversary) we are without our laptop and using our ipad is at best different. Definitely not a good substitute for a regular computer. Thank you again for the pet planner. We will do a post when we get our laptop back.

  16. Sibes are indeed a breed unto themselves. All breed have much to cherish about them including the rescue breed. It rings true to me that Sibes do indeed hold grudges a bit longer than most breeds or rescue breeds sans any Sibe DNA! Sibes adore attention, when they are ready and want it. They do not attempt to please their humans to great degree hence, they hold onto that pout a little longer than most other dogs; gotta love 'em for that
