Pet Parade - Blanket Pod Pet ID

What is Blanket ID you ask?

You all know I have touched on how imPAWtant it is to have proper ID for your pets, should they get lost. Today I bring you another great way to keep ID on your pets, while keeping in style as well!
Introducing the Blanket ID pod.

The Blanket ID pod is a small container, which holds a weather resistant slip of paper, which you can add all of your contact info to. Ex : Your pets name, address, phone number, etc...

You stylishly add it to your pets collar, and it looks super cute too!
Blanket ID has tons of other items as well, so I encourage you to check out their site, however today we will focus on the pod.

The pod comes in 4 colors :
Orange, silver, purple and dark grey.
We chose silver.
I was happy with how small the pod was when I received it in the mail. I actually expected it to be a little bigger, which I was worried about, because when something is to dangley on my dogs collars, they like to chew! It is about 1inch long.

Let me take a moment to explain Blanket ID.

When you purchase your pod for $9.99 you are automatically entitled to a one year free membership to Blanket ID. You can choose to pay a couple dollars more for a longer membership PLUS Blanket ID will donate towards supporting animal welfare.

Why would you need a membership for an ID item?

This is the best part! When you purchase one of their items you get what is called a Blanket ID number. You then go to blanketid.com to register your pet(s) and create a poster with your dogs info on it. This way, your pet is "in the system." If your pet gets lost, you can print off your poster PLUS when you report your lost pet to blanket, they notify your local shelters, animal control etc...with a photo of your pet.

You can print the poster off and plaster it all over town, should your pet ever get lost.

Now . . . Blanket ID claims that this pod is water proof. And I thought, how great is that?
I am one that will take my huskies for a walk, rain or shine, as well as going down to the beach quite often!

BUT . . .

I was not about to tell my readers that this product was water proof, without testing that theory!
I am proud to be able to give my very honest opinion of a product for you all, and the only way I can do that, is by first testing it for myself.

I did the video short and sweet, but I did keep the pod submerged in the water for longer, before I recorded.

Right about now, you must be wondering, "how does Koda look in his new pod?"
Of course you are!

 This last photo (below) was an epic fail of a photo, but I just had to post it!
Here we are, in the middle of the photo shoot, when Koda decides to start howling!
That's what I call Just WOO-ing it!

I'm sure in human translation, his howls were meant to say "thank you for my new pod mama!"

Did you know that 1 in 3 pet owners will lose their pet at one time or another?
Research shows that due to lack of space in shelters, sadly, pets get euthanized as early as 72 hours after arriving. Many times, this can be prevented if pets have proper ID. This enables the shelter to contact the owner of the pet. (Info Source)
