I am happy to announce today that we are doing our first ever product review!
We were contacted by the good people at Kurgo dog supplies and dog travel accessories originally to partner up with them in an affiliate program, you can check out their ad on my sidebar, or just click the one below to see more.
kurgo also agreed to send us one of their Tru-Fit harnesses for a review!

First, I would like to share with you, a little bit of background info about the Kurgo brothers.
Kitter Spater and his brother Gordie Spater (photo credit to Kurgo.com) |
I love their story because their inspiration for this business came from all the right places.
It came from none other than their wonderful dog Zelda. A 70lb hyper active Plot Hound mix.
They were a young family who liked to travel a lot, and enjoyed bringing Zelda with them.
Car rides became difficult with Zelda always trying to jump up front.
So, with a design background they took their idea to the sketch board, and from there, made a product called The backseat barrier. And of course from there, they then developed Kurgo.
*This information came from Kurgo's website, for more on the brothers story, click the ad to take you to their site!*
Kurgo specializes in dog travel accessories and products that encourage you to get out and get active with your dog. Let's face it, people love to travel. And I know so many people who will not adopt a dog BECAUSE they travel. Obviously they have not yet discovered what Kurgo has to offer. And people who DO have dogs, when they travel, their pets are put into a doggy day care or they have dog sitters etc... But why?
Travelling has been made easier with so many of their great products!
Things like the back seat barrier, the backseat bridge, backseat/extender, or the auto zip line leash/zip line combo, and SO many more! So why not get out with your dog?

Now, onto the review!
Now guys, when Kurgo contacted me, I stated I was uncomfortable having their ad on my site without having tested the products first. I will not endorse something I do not believe in.
And I gotta tell ya . . . . I am certainly "comfortable" with it now! I was so happy to see the high quality of workmanship that has gone into making these products.
Their care and attention to detail was obvious and a wonderful surprise.
Not only does this harness have super strength, but it fit Lexus like a glove!
It fit her so well in fact, she decided to lay down on the job, and have a wee nap! haha!
The Tru-Fit harness is a snap to hook up as well. I have had so many different harnesses, and they can be a pain to fit to the dog, and even just trying to get them into it is a hassle.
The Tru-Fit has these super cool clips called "nested buckles"
And with dynamically tested steel hardware,
you can be sure that the clips are NOT going to break!
And since Lexus didn't have to wait around patiently while I tried to have her slip her legs
into an ill fitting harness, she was a perfect model. Simply put the top over her head and bring the straps up, and a quick clip of the nested buckles, she was ready to go!
I made a short video so that you can see just how quick these special clips go together.
See? easy as sniffs, barks and licks!
Want to see more? Check out these photo's and see just how much this one harness has to offer.

I also discovered, that by clipping the leash to the front clip, it really helps with her pulling as well!
Still not convinced?
As I said before Kurgo's products are dog supplies and dog TRAVEL accessories.
So where is the travel part you ask?
Check this out!
Quick and easy buckling with the seat belt tether makes for a quick vehicle hook up, and your ready to go! |
Hope you all enjoyed! See you tomorrow for Wordless Wednesday!
And don't forget to check out the Kurgo site on my side bar to see what they have to offer!

*I was given a Tru-Fit harness in exchange for my review. However, the free product I received, in no way impacted my words. These are my honest views and I would highly recommend Kurgo to all my friends, family and readers.*
Wonderful review! Shiner has this same harness too and I really like it.

PAWTASTIC REVIEW!! I give YOU "12 paws up!!" xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you Caren!! So glad you liked it! I worked super hard on it!!
DeleteI like that it's a one harness that is multifunctional. I also like that it has a back clip. I would like Delilah's harness to clip in the back, when it clips in the front she always has the leash stuck somewhere between her legs.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment! I love how versatile it is also! Definitely the best harness I have ever owned! And I have owned my share of them haha!!! Thanks for coming by and I am so glad you liked it!
DeleteSuper smart harness. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteThanks Laika! It sure is! I think it would look just gorgeous on you!
DeleteWonderful review! Mom has been thinking about one of those seat belt tethers for me. Problem is, I have eaten at least three seat belt tethers already. Oh, and eating the actual seat belt is not good either! Right now I have a travel harness and the peeps have a length of outdoor cable they have put a carabiner on either side and that is how I am tethered in the vehicle. I have enough room to turn around and lay down with it. Mom hopes I stop my expensive habit soon, so she can go back to the nice looking seat belt tethers.
ReplyDeleteOh Buddy! you crazy pup!!!!! Us humans are just trying to keep you safe!!!
DeleteMake sure you keep us in mind when you do decide to purchase some travel gear! Our new favs are Kurgo!!!

DeleteI've heard good things about this company so just today I ordered the backseat barrier! I am thinking about harnesses but wanted to see how I liked this product first. I have to say I love those easy clips that you showed in the video.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't use to travel with the dogs much, but I hope to more in the future so need to get more things to make them safer in the car.
